Welcome to Libellennet

Libellennet is a website about the damselflies and dragonflies (Odonata) of the Netherlands. You can find general information about dragonflies and specific information on all 71 species recorded in the Netherlands. This site is compiled and edited by Dutch Butterfly Conservation (De Vlinderstichting).
 

Information

General information about dragonflies can be found by following the link Libellen algemeen. For information about a specific species, follow the link Libellensoorten and enter (a part of) the scientific name. You will enter the ‘species specific page’, with basic information on identification, biology, ecology and distribution of the species. Photos of the species can be found here as well. More specific information can be found by following one of the links listed under 'Meer over deze libel', in the upper right corner of the species specific pages.
 

Figures

For each species the following figures are presented:
  • a map with geographical distribution in the Netherlands
  • a diagram showing the main flight period.
